Safety Precautions for the Use of Low-Voltage Power Distribution Boxes
Strict management and the correct use of low-voltage power distribution boxes are indispensable measures for reducing electrical accidents. To ensure effective management and usage, it is essential to implement principles of hierarchical and circuit-specific management, establish clear regulations, and assign specific responsibilities to each party involved.
(I) The Equipment and Power Department shall assign a unique number to each low-voltage power distribution box, register it, and create a dedicated technical file for it. Periodic technical inspections and performance tests shall be conducted.
(II) Maintenance electricians shall conduct routine patrols of the distribution boxes. If any components exhibit signs of severe overheating, the underlying cause must be investigated. Loose wiring connections must be tightened, and any accumulated dust or debris inside the box must be promptly cleared to maintain a clean and tidy interior.
(III) Operators are strictly prohibited from stacking or hanging workpieces or other items within a 1.2-meter radius directly in front of the distribution box door. No water accumulation is permitted in the immediate vicinity of the distribution box. Personnel who are not qualified electricians are strictly prohibited from dismantling or installing electrical components.
(IV) Switching the power on or off while under load is strictly prohibited to prevent the generation of excessive electrical arcs, which could burn out distribution components or cause accidents resulting in burns or scalding injuries to the operator.
